Why Give?
A good school is a gift that enriches our lives forever. This school works so well, has such a profound impact on the development of children, and commands the loyalty and affection of so many people for a very
simple reason. A very simple reason, but apparently not that easy to do.
We find the best teachers we can, and as a community, we support them and respect them.
We know that they will not be perfect in their work and that as artists, they might spill some paint along the way. But we know there is no more important variable in a child’s school life than gifts of the people he or she
studies with.
We know, and we should never forget, that when a child dances across stage for the first time, breaks through an academic barrier, finds her voice, or takes a risk and discovers he can do the previously undoable—we know that somewhere backstage, or on the sidelines, or standing next to that child is a teacher who has said, “Attaboy, ‘attagirl’. The child knows that the adults in school are on his side, and that makes all the difference.
